About Ian Darbyshire

I have always had an interest in woodworking and furniture restoration, several years ago I was introduced to the art of woodturning. After attending a woodworking show I purchased my first wood lathe and set myself up in a small workshop, since then I have moved onto a larger workshop and a larger lathe.

I started turning pens in 2004 and since then I have come along way with the styles of pens and varieties of woods that I use.

I am very passionate about what I produce, and as wood is a natural product no two pieces of wood are ever the same. The true characteristics of the wood are never really shown until the piece has been finished.
